THE SLIP 2003-2016

A clipped hornbeam (Carpinus betula) enclosed garden with three almost-closed slips’. A slip is a restrained narrow access access. A ‘slip’ is the name given to the narrow openings cut into the hedge. Only one foot wide visitors must turn sideways to ‘slip’ in and out of the garden. The experience is one of concealment through cool hornbeam and on entering: silence
